“Staying at Mama Shelter Prague was a very different experience and we absolutely loved it! Mama Shelter offers so many things for the entire family to keep them entertained. The breakfast served is full of various options to choose from. The only downside is this hotel does not offer air-conditioning and their thermostat for all the rooms is centrally controlled. We had to keep our windows open at night as it was uncomfortably warm inside. But this affected our sleep, as the noise of the early morning traffic woke us up really early every day. Overall, it was a pleasant and positive experience.”

“We booked hotel for business purpose to oversleep and perform business meetings in the city. I came in car and parked on parking. When i checked in I specifically asked on reception if is parking paid or if it is free within the room price. It was confirmed on reception that the parking is part of the room. After the stay we received invoice for parking. This is extremely unprofessional. Please remove the invoice for parking since it’s miscommunication on hotel side. Very unpredictable for 4* property. Next this is breakfast. When I am there for business sometimes I need to leave for meetings before 7am. We asked for breakfast package or breakfast to be ready before 7. This was rejected. Not convenient hotel for business and unprofessional communication for 4* level propert.”

“The complaints about the temperature in the rooms is true. It was unusually warm while I was there. The AC didn’t work at all. Front desk said that it should be repaired the next day. It wasn’t. Asked them to tell housekeeping to keep the curtains closed so the afternoon sun wouldn’t bake the room. They didn’t. Had to keep the window open overnight to cool things off.”

“They were very pleasant at the front office upon arrival, the room was perfectly tidy, the bathroom clean without a single flaw. As it was my husband's birthday, the whole room was decorated in a festive style, a beautiful welcome on the mirror, we were given amenities and a cake. Breakfast was varied, everyone can choose. The breakfast staff were friendly. The whole atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, we had a fantastic stay. We would love to do it again. Thank you :) ..we especially say hello to Bruno!”

“The personnel at the restaurant is really awful and not customer oriented. I arrived after a long working day at 21:35 at the hotel, knowing that the kitchen will close at 22:00 (as stated on the website and in the hotel app in the room) so I'll be able to order before closing time. But when I arrived, I was told that the kitchen already closed at 21:30. When I asked where is this written, they checked with the kitchen personnel if they want still to cook, which they didn't. While all these discussions were ongoing, I asked another staff where is it written that the kitchen closes before the official time and she told me that the closing time is 21:45, without being able to show me where it is written. Really awful personnel. Moreover the window of the room had a problem and the outside noise was really loud, I could not properly rest.”

“We have already stayed in Mama Shelter Prague several times. Everything was fine each time except for the huge dust in each room. To illustrate: The dust problem was so bad that when we went to sleep I cleaned my luggage with a microfiber cloth and when we woke up in the morning the whole bag was covered in a layer of dust. This is the reason we could not sleep well every night we stayed there and my GF had an allergic reaction to dust.”

“All in all, everything was more or less okay - but we will definitely choose a different accommodation on our next visit to Prague. Regarding the negative points, I would especially emphasise the very(!) badly soundproofed walls, the thin room door - and the lack of damping of impact noise (especially from above). During our second night we were woken up shortly after 3am by our neighbours (probably from upstairs?) - extremely loud stomping, various noises (probably from the bathroom). Then, after almost six hours of sleep, other noises woke us up. With all due respect for the hard work that the cleaning staff have to do every day: the noises caused by the cleaning staff (repeated, violent door slamming, loud conversations...) woke us up early. We also found it quite unprofessional that we were woken up at 10am - two hours before our actual check-out - by a knock (completely unnecessary, considering it was our last day anyway).”
