After a spell  in London, the pair chose to anchor themselves between Bastille and Bagnolet in a space of barely 30m² where they infuse their dishes with all the richness of their roots. Standouts include sea bream on a bed of chickpeas and capers and lamb balls flanked by a labné spiced with zaatar and elderflowers, each accompanied by pitas made with organic wholemeal flour that are just out of the oven. Moko’s desserts are just as delicious with playful miso sesame cookies and halvah cakes.

    Countryside in Paris

Bucolic walk - 900m from Mama

One of the best-kept secrets of the capital, our favorite walk reveals a brilliantly preserved old-school Paris, with cobbled streets, flower-filled gardens and small brick workers’ houses built for those who labored in the nearby gypsum quarries.

To unearth this treasure, walk along rue Jules Siegfried and rue Georges Perec before reaching Saint Blaise square opposite the Saint Germain de Charonne church. (Built in the 12th century and restored several times, the church is today the only one to retain its small cemetery, along with Saint-Pierre de Montmartre). Does this bucolic image ring a bell? This is where the last scene of the mythical film Les Tontons Flingueurs was shot with Bernard Blier and Lino Ventura.
