We love this neighborhood bookstore, whose name is a references to Le Temps des Cerises, Jean-Baptiste Clément's song, composed during the Paris Commune uprisings.51 rue de Bagnolet, 75020 Paris - +33 (0)1 40 09 08 80A name that also sums up the spirit of the place: joyful and rebellious at the same time. Countryside in Paris
Bucolic walk - 900m from Mama
One of the best-kept secrets of the capital, our favorite walk reveals a brilliantly preserved old-school Paris, with cobbled streets, flower-filled gardens and small brick workers’ houses built for those who labored in the nearby gypsum quarries. To unearth this treasure, walk along rue Jules Siegfried and rue Georges Perec before reaching Saint Blaise square opposite the Saint Germain de Charonne church. (Built in the 12th century and restored several times, the church is today the only one to retain its small cemetery, along with Saint-Pierre de Montmartre). Does this bucolic image ring a bell? This is where the last scene of the mythical film Les Tontons Flingueurs was shot with Bernard Blier and Lino Ventura.
