“I booked an online package for two people “mama sleeps and brunch” because my husband and I were looking for a getaway at the hotel as it was our wedding anniversary. Knowing that we would arrive late, I called the hotel to inform them. Upon our arrival, the evening receptionist found my reservation for the room but not for breakfast and brunch. Not wanting to deal with it that night, we decided to have a drink at the hotel restaurant and sort it out the next day. At the restaurant, we were quickly handed the menu and placed our order, but 2 hours later, we still hadn’t received our drinks and decided to return to our rooms. The next day, the reception called us at 12 PM to ask us to check out, even though our package included a late check-out at 2 PM. We had to go downstairs and show the confirmation email of our reservation to prove it. The breakfast went smoothly, As for the brunch, we were asked to pay again as they couldn’t find our reservation again . It feels like the staff doesn't even know that their hotel offers packages. It’s quite frustrating to have to justify ourselves multiple times. This will be our first and last time at this hotel.”

“after many years staying @ mamashelter 1st time i had bad time was in room101 for 2 nights during the night i was hearing the loud of noise of door opening and closing impossible to sleep. almost sure was door from the lobby or someone working overnight. really bad time.”

“I love Mama Shelter so it really pains me to write this. I have sent at least 10 of my friends to Mama Shelter. Your Sunday Brunch is so popular that many Parisians come. Unfortunately, there were issues with my 10/19 to 11/5 stay. On Sep 21 I made 3 reservations that were all charged then cancelled without explanation. I called Mama Shelter and was put on hold for 1 hour 20 minutes. I made a wifi call from New York City that I thought was free. T-Mobile charged me an additional $450. I asked a friend who lives in Paris to call Mama Shelter. It took Mama Shelter 2 days to confirm but no one ever contacted me from Mama Shelter. Three days later I received a confirmation email from Mama Shelter. A friend shipped my PC from Lisbon. Unfortunately, due to the flooding in Spain, the shipment was delayed 4 days. I told one of the night front desk clerks. She noted my account. I confirmed with a gentleman at the front desk the next morning. He said I saw the note. I asked for the manager. He said she's in a meeting now, but I spoke with her and she knows. I left Mama Shelter Nov 5 10:00. The DHL package still had not arrived. I spoke with another lady at the front desk. She was concerned with Mama Shelter holding my PC indefinitely. I told her it cost $400 to ship this PC to the US. If I take it on the plane with me, it's $100. However, the PC costs only $400. I would not ship it at a cost of $400. It would just be easier to simply buy another PC than pay that much. I left for Charles de Gaulle. My flight took off. It landed Nov 5 19:00 Paris time. I turned on my cell phone to check the delivery status. I was shocked that Mama Shelter had rejected the package. Absolutely nothing was consistent with my stay. I am a LOW MAINTENANCE guest. Please see my last review where I raved and gave 9 and 10 ratings. I spent in excess of $3000. My last stay I spent just as much. My prior stay I spent $7000. I should be the guest that gets shown special treatment. Not ignored.”

“We were extremely grateful to have a surprise room upgrade and appreciated the extra space with our baby and everything was supplied to make up formula and a great cot was supplied! Sadly there was something wrong with our shower, meaning it would go warm for a minute and then turn freezing again - we did report this to the reception desk and a technician was meant to visit the room, but we still had the problem the second day! Despite this issue would definitely stay again, was a great first trip with our baby!”

“Check-in wasn’t possible until 3.30pm as the rooms were not ready (we turned up at 2). Rooms were basic (no iron but a microwave?!), too dark, broken phone line , and not very clean (especially dirty mirrors). Travel to the 7th floor was horrible, inaccessible and involved a staircase consistently littered by rubbish and dirty plates. BUT - overall stay was redeemed by: the communal restaurant is very good and food is well priced. Both the restaurant and front desk staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Location is more chilled than other parts of Paris.”
