Carrefour des Sablons, Bois de Boulogne, 75116

In the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, the Jardin d’Acclimatation is once again a children’s paradise… The proof is in the form of its 18 hectares of dreamy vegetation dotted with meadows for games and picnics, its 43 rides and attractions (roller coasters, ghost hunts, etc.), its 15 ponies for rides, and its 450 animals divided between the large aviary, the small Normandy farm and the educational apiary. The place also houses an excellent Italian table (da Antonino), an ice cream stand, a crêperie and small pavilions where you can take a break and eat. Ideal after a visit to Guignol, a ride in a flying chair or on the Toupie which makes the little ones travel in a customized 2CV and in an Apollo capsule…

    Table Square

European - 1.1 km from Mama

La Défense also has its own Food Court with the best chefs at work, as well as craftsmen, such as the aesthetic butcher Hugo Desnoyer. A rare opportunity to taste starred cuisine at low prices; at any time of the day, on the spot or to take away...
    86 esplanade du Général de Gaulle, 92400 Courbevoie - 01 47 75 39 53

If the fashion for food courts nowadays brings together the best and the worst, Table Square is one of the real success stories, with a cast that will make all food addicts go crazy. The huge terrace and the three pavilions designed by the team of Enia Architects bring together a perfect mix of established names and rising stars. We’ll join Daily Pic, the stronghold of three-starred chef Anne-Sophie Pic, who imagines her verrines as works of art: cauliflower soup, citrus panna cotta, coriander coral lentils; scrambled eggs, porcini mushroom cream, chestnuts and mushrooms; and, for dessert, a vanilla and mango rice pudding to die for. A few steps away, Grillé offers grilled or marinated meats and luxury kebabs from starred Inaki Aizpitarte and Fred Peneau, all selected by star butcher Hugo Desnoyer. An Italian-American trattoria, a Japanese canteen, a Belgian brasserie, and a corner dedicated to seafood by two-starred chef Olivier Bellin complete this high-flying, cosmopolitan and gourmet offer.

    Saperlipopette

French, European, Gastronomic brasserie - 0.6 km from Mama

We no longer need to introduce the very media-friendly Norbert Tarayre... The former Top Chef contestant has set up shop in the center of Puteaux, which he is helping to revive with his impeccable, seasonal bistro cuisine.
4 rue Mars et Roty, 92800 Puteaux

We like the chic decor with its charcoal gray facade, its dining room flanked by library walls and the zinc counter, all extended by a vast terrace facing the city’s theater. But here, one comes above all to taste the cuisine of Norbert Tarayre, whose buzz makes one forget that he is above all a remarkable chef with classical training, like Marc Veyrat and Bernard Loiseau. Here he treats a conquered public to impeccable bistronomy with organic eggs enhanced with leek fondue, smoked haddock and ponzu mayonnaise; squid ink risotto awakened by snacked chipirons or roasted veal and its smoked onion purée. All refreshed by food and wine pairings recommended by the sommelier, always very inspired.

    Sir Winston

Bar, Restaurant - 4.5 km from Mama

The oldest pub in the capital has been given a makeover by the very creative Laura Gonzalez. Just a stone's throw from the Champs-Elysées, it is now one of the most sought-after places to eat, with its mix of Indian inspiration and British spirit.
    5 rue de Presbourg, 75116 Paris - 01 40 67 17 37

Italian marble tables, wicker chairs, fabrics and carpets from Rajasthan or Tamil Nadu… From the entrance, the tone is set with a beautiful glass roof and a long dining room that seem to come straight out of Darjeeling Limited. Directed by Manoj Sharma, the cuisine is as good as the change of scenery. This chef, originally from New Delhi and raised in London, treats us to delicious scotch eggs, soft-boiled eggs coated with a crispy sausage meat spiced with curry and mustard seeds; lamb curry enhanced with fresh coconut or a beef tartar with Indian spices. There is also a speakeasy in the basement where you can sip witty cocktails, with a special mention for the Saitras (vodka infused with citrus zest, kumquat liqueur, lemon juice, cranberry nectar, bergamot syrup and fresh sage). The cool and trendy address that the top of the Champs-Elysées needed.

    Octopus

French, Bar, Seafood - 1.1 km from Mama

A brasserie decor and, on the plate, Maison Rostang's signature cuisine. Octopus is THE restaurant of La Défense but also a bar with cocktails imagined by Sterling Hudson (ex barman of Moonshiner).
    1 esplanade de la Défense, 92800 - 01 84 20 06 58

Located on the esplanade of La Défense in the heart of the Oxygen space, Octopus combines two key assets. A room with a contemporary design and bay windows that open onto the historic axis of the capital (the Arc de Triomphe, the Obelisk of Concorde, the Louvre Palace). A cuisine with Basque accents, imagined by Géraldine Rumeau under the guidance of the Rostang house, with real nuggets such as this Angus beef picanha or this white cuttlefish and espelette pepper risotto. Very popular at lunch and dinner, Octopus is also a perfect afterwork meeting place with cocktails by Sterling Hudson, from the Liquid Corp group – partner of the adventure. Our favorite? The Mecano, a Paloma revisited with Tequila, Tawny port infused with grapefruit, lime, gum arabic syrup and lemonade. Sip it at the sumptuous XXL central bar while watching the sun set over the city’s rooftop forest.

    Yaya La Défense

Greek - 1.5 km from Mama

Just walk through the door and you'll find yourself in a small village in the Peloponnese. Bright white walls, azure wallpapers, hanging ropes and, on the plate, the best lamb in papillote and grilled octopus. Greece as we like it. Far, very far from the postcard.
    15 parvis de la Défense, CC Westfields les 4 temps, 92800 Puteaux - 01 40 90 09 09

After Saint-Ouen and the Buttes-Chaumont, the Chantzios brothers -associated with chef Juan Arbelaez- have chosen to set up shop on the parvis de la Défense with the same ambition. To renew Greek cuisine with contemporary proposals, with Mediterranean influences. We love the subtly lightened classics: moussaka, skioufikta (small Cretan pasta with seasonal vegetables and goat cheese) or the pitas which come in four versions: lamb, chicken, beef or halloumi in veggie mode, accompanied by tzatziki, red onion pickles and fresh herbs. So many delights to take away or eat on the spot in the decor signed Olivier Delannoy and inspired by the Cretan city of Chania, the island’s ancient remains or the purple waters of the Aegean Sea…

Here you can discover a collection that brings together the great names of modern art (Maurizio Cattelan, Annette Messager, Giuseppe Penone) and special commissions from the best contemporary artists; you will be thrilled by the most prestigious exhibitions (Chtchoukine collection, Charlotte Perriand) but the superstar of the place remains the building itself. Twelve immense sails made of some 3600 glass panels that seem to take on the sky… To be discovered by day and by night, on the occasion of one of the many concerts given in the auditorium.

From Caesar to Miro, about fifty works of art have taken place on the immense esplanade and its surroundings. To discover like a treasure hunt...
The works of art of the Defense, parvis of la Défense, Puteaux

We know its high towers and its arch topped by a 110m high roof terrace, but we know less that the business district also wants to be an open-air museum with about fifty works of art placed on the esplanade and its surroundings. On the menu? Caesar’s huge thumb, Calder’s red spider, two fantastic characters by Miro and the mechanical bird by the Greek sculptor Philolaos, the first work acquired in the 1970s. The premises also house frescoes, fountains and sculptures by prestigious artists and the municipality has chosen to enrich this collection with a new work each year, on the occasion of its festival of contemporary art (Les Extatiques). A must-see, as well as the Défense jazz festival or the Urban week, a remarkable street culture event.

More poetic and nestled in the heart of the woods, the Bagatelle park is home to a sumptuous 18th century building designed by Marie-Antoinette and the Count of Artois, English-style gardens and an area dedicated to Mediterranean species, a water mirror where a pagoda is reflected and secret caves. The ideal alliance for a bucolic walk, to discover the charms and mysteries of the place.

Kith Paris, 49 rue Pierre Charron, 75008 Paris

In place of the old Pershing Hall Hotel built in the 17th century, the American label signed by Ronnie Fieg radiates around a central patio planted with trees from which the visit begins. And what a visit! The only French branch of the New York restaurant dedicated to Sadelle’s brunch (bagels and chocolate babkas to die for), several floors devoted to the most fashionable sneakers but also a women’s, men’s and children’s street-wear, a selection of vintage design and a cereal and ice cream bar “Kith Treats”. Here, we also take the time to admire the decoration: marble stairs, huge volumes, sparkling gilding and ultra-realistic airplane cabin to complete the immersive experience.

    Le bar caché du Jacopo

Parisians love this neo-bistro with its New York loft feel and ex Top Chef finalist Thibault Bombardier at the stove. On the other hand, it is less known that the place shelters a more confidential smoking bar...
5 bis rue Vernet, 75008 Paris

Hungry diners will delight in a salmon steak with mint or a chicken supreme with bacon; night owls will go straight to the speakeasy, which is reached by crossing… the refrigerators. Inspired by the underground bars of the prohibition era, Jacopo has a period decor with billiards, dimmed lights and big leather armchairs. The cocktails are also reminiscent of the 1930s with infused spirits such as Le Chamanique, which features vodka infused with sage and pineapple, gentian with jalapenos, elderflower, lemon juice and egg white. To be enjoyed to the sounds of regularly invited DJs.

Perched on the heights of the Champs-Elysées, this Asian boudoir-like restaurant celebrates Japanese cuisine, with a 180° view. Another asset is that the place is accessible for cocktails on the open-air terrace, extended by its greenhouse and mini garden.
    52 avenue des Champs Elysées, 75008 Paris - 01 40 70 57 05

New address of the Paris-society group (Giraffe, Mr Bleu, Perruche…), this rooftop restaurant is like an ode to a dreamed Asia, with its precious fabrics and secret alcoves, its velvet armchairs and lacquered wood. The terrace and its greenhouse, a paradise filled with vegetation that opens onto the Eiffel Tower or the Sacré Coeur, is a great show. Indoors or outdoors, you can enjoy high-flying Japanese cuisine or the delights of the sushi bar, which offers sashimi, california and tataki, not to mention the pastries of Yann Couvreur. A mention also for the cocktails (delicious Kagami: vodka, vintage sake, Earl Grey, lemon and Aquafaba) served with tempura and nigiri.

We love this poetic place where cups and teapots are piled up from floor to ceiling and where we sit down at lunchtime to taste quiches of the day, duck parmentiers or organic eggs with salmon… But the best is yet to come with the great classics of French pastry, reinterpreted with talent. Among our favorites, the mythical Pavlova, Mont Blanc and Paris Brest, but also the Russian chocolate tea tart or the divine Lovely rose (almond cookie with raspberry chips, hint of rose and vanilla). As warm as dynamic, the place also offers brunches, birthday parties and even pastry classes.
