Next to Vatican. Hotel designed for youngsters and short stays

“This hotel is the equivalent of Marriott Moxys for Accor. If you are below 30 years old and stay only a couple of nights you might enjoy it. I am a Platinum Accor member who booked for a week and I was given the smallest room. Didn't supply replacement soaps on the bathroom. Also no shampoo available. Restaurant is run by youngsters, waiters are not very professional, one of them wanted to do high 5 with me. On breakfast they blast the music loud from 7 AM. Lots of food options for breakfast though, quality stuff.”

Great location, very close to Cipri metro station, and warm friendly reception.

“I wanted a nice boutique hotel, close to a metro station, with an indoor pool and gym, and on site dining. Mama Shelter Roma ticked all the boxes, and I took advantage of all their amenities. But above all that I would rate the reception from the team at the front desk. They were warm, engaging, and informative - exactly what you would want from the team running a hotel.”

Well located , very bad services

“I stayed 3 nights in the Mama Shelter. The hotel himself is very goof located and designed. But i've to talk about the service in the restaurant... They called us guest but when you want to book a table at the restaurant, they treat you like a customer from whom one must take one's money... During the breakfeast, 3 times they bothered me to tell that i have to speed because they need the table for the lunch. And one other more time at the restaurant, they non authorised me to seat at the sofa because they reserved this place for groups wich we have never seen of course... A advice for us, treat your guest who are presents at the moment and let us feeling as guest..”

Bugs and spiders in the bed

“Our bed had spiders and stink bugs in it. Asked for new blankets and they gave us one sheet. Hotel is trying to be something they are clearly not.”

    Excellent stay.

“Lovely place to stay being close to the Metro with some great eateries within a short walk. Very comfortable bed and cheerful decor with great bathroom. Only negative is we would have liked tea and coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast had lots of choice for all tastes.”

Nice hotel, nice staff and located near Vatican.

“The staff is friendly, smiling and helpful to give you some tips to enjoy your trip. The breakfast was limited compare to other 5 stars hotels, but it was good.”

    Okay location, okay hotel

“Really fun and quirky hotel. Not super close to centre so would need to travel by metro or taxi, not walking distance. Good size rooms but nothing gets replenished like in other hotels and no tea or coffee facilities in room. Tea and coffee brought in hotel is overpriced. Buffet breakfast is too over priced. A La Carte menu in restaurant is better but cheaper and better elsewhere. Wouldn’t rush back to stay here. Staff were friendly. WiFi is free and easy to connect to but does not work. Expensive hotel for not a lot of provisions. Also city tax could be included in price of hotel as is done elsewhere”

Perfect location, very safe and very walkable

“The hotel staff went out of their way to make us feel home. The friendliness of the staff make you feel like a local. It is very rare to see an staff so energetic and willing full to make your stay a pleasant one. We stayed in 4 hotels during this trip and more expensive one. But this one surpassed our expectations and was the best. Great stay…”

    It was ok

“I have no idea what to expect staying at a MS hotel for the first time, but based on amenities, apart from the fancy decorations, it reminds me of an Ibis or Travelodge. You get one small bar of soap, to wash your hands and shower with. Two empty plastic cups, two small boxed water 500ml (they don’t replace if you finished them), and a small pack of 4x facial cotton and a nail file. Granted the latter vanity pack is not something you’ll get at lower scale hotel, but what we paid, we expect a lot more than just a basic room with nothing. We had to call several times for a proper shower gel plus body moisturiser. The location is ok, around 20 mins walk to the Vatican but you’ll pass like a local high street with restaurants etc. The metro (Cipro)is about 7 mins walk. Overall it’s an overpriced OK hotel. Also, it’s in a residential area so your room may likely be facing someone’s flat. We love Rome though.”

    Clean rooms good location

“It was nice not staying in the busy part of Rome. Just a couple short blocks from the metro made it extremely convenient. Was able to experience the coffee shops and grocery stores of the locals for a real taste of Rome. Our room was a good size and clean. We would recommend and stay again.”

Well located, good stay & close to Metro

“Customer service was great. The room was lovely and spacious. Breakfast was also very good and loved that the hotel was just a few meters from a Metro Train station.”

    Good location

“The Reception Team were helpful. When walking into the reception lobby at times it appeared to be kaos due to the small area and confined space for the reception staff to check customers in, The feeling was similar to a busy airport. . The restuarant prices were poor value. Not sure how often the pool is cleaned but bandaids on the bottom of the pool are not a good look over the three swims we had.. No tea and coffee facilities in the room which is offered in the most basic of hotels. Houskeeping was excellent.”

    Doest deliver anymore.

“Some of the stuff still tries to do a great job but all over the place you can feel bad management. Probably they are saving money. At breakfast not enough people working. Used dishes on every table, hard to find one without. And it would be great if there were stuff making scrambled eggs or more…. We could ask to make coffee , but no one was around and when it was you could feel that no one wants to be there or provide a good service. Long lines when I had to check in, forgot welcome drinks. “Snacks and cookies” were 2 cookies. One to each :). It was delivered to our room and how I suppose to eat them if there is no coffee or tee? Rooms don’t have coffee maker or water boiler and it’s okey. But no room service. Important to know. I ordered through secret escape and it was not the room what I expected. The guy at the reception said it’s nothing he can do , but the girl who come next morning fixed everything. As I wrote there are some good workers. Bartender working in outside terrace were nice and friendly and did a good job, but also what was difficult to understand and is misleading. Hotel is at least 15 minutes distance from Vatican museum. We used 26. while very optimistic «few steps» is written on the webside. So sum up. Hotel is not that close to anything. You feel like you are already outside ancient Roma so if you stay because of the touristic sites -choose different one.”

Very funky hotel but service misses the mark

“Hotel is really nice, funky decor and has a modern vibe. Room was big and bed comfortable Reception staff friendly but other experiences left a lot to be desired. Breakfast, which was included in our rate, was very average and the service was terrible - gave you the impression that they resented you even being there. We complained and it improved things slightly but not dramatically. Then there was just lack of attention to detail, for example no water provided in the gym. It's a shame because it has potential to be a great hotel but the service and customer experience lets it down.”
