“The receptionists are very kind and open to answer all my questions. The walking distance from hotel to Vatican City is very convenient and budget friendly in case I do not want to purchase transportation. Walking around, I feel safe and comfortable.”

“Nice family stay in Roma, the hotel is close to Vatican but a bit far away from the city center, the building has little style, the decoration is very nice, great rooftop. The pool was closed during our stay, apparently this happens a lot, very disappointing in summer, no welcome drinks for All members (only a small juice). A bit expensive overall.”

“While my family loved the hotel, and found it to be well decorated, and well serviced by restaurants, we primarily booked it for it's swimming pool, which was the main advertising picture on the booking website we used. At check in we discovered that the pool had been out of action for months, with no return date. Accor should take responsibility for this, and pull any promotional material that includes the swimming pool as a feature until they have repaired and reopened it.”

“The room we had was clean and fine. The location was ok but we did not know of any other restaurants nearby so would be great to have that information as a tourist. The staff were friendly but not very attentive. We thought the dj and entertainment would be great but the vibes weren’t there for that. The drinks were overaly expensive and I paid 10 euros for a tiny glass of wine. I live in London, one of the most expensive cities in the world, so I am accustomed to higher pricing, but that was disappointing. The pizza however, was lovely.”

“A great hotel with a practical location only a short walk from the metro station. A unique an colorful design both in the main areas and inn the rooms. Rooftoop bar/restaurant overlooking the Vatican and St. Peters Basilica. Wonderful restaurantes on the griund floor serving the best pizza I've ever tasted! Wonderful and welcoming staff. Especially Samuel and Simone in the restaurant and Vino at the reseption.”

“Pool housekeeping 1. Hair found 1st day inside new towel. 2. No more soap and shampoo after 1st housekeeping 3. They will supply only when I request it. 4. After complaint but not fixed issue 3rd night. After complaints on 2nd night. Manually received shampoo, but no shampoo on 3rd night. 4.No more water except 1st batch. This is hotel policy that explains everything. No benefit for long term stay. The hotel focus on saving penny. Unpleasant experience during my stay.”

“Service in the restaurants was just all over the place, not good. Cleaning in the room was not good, they did not clean the carpet and floor for 7 nights, also they did not put on clean bedding for 7 nights. I asked for extra mattress or bedding in the sofa bed 3 times, because it was so thin to sleep on, they did nothing for me. Then I ask for extra blanket so I could put under me, and they did come with that. On the photo it was to be 2 sinks in the bathroom, but it was only one. We put do not disturb on the door, but they still opened the door. So over all I was not pleased for the price you pay and what you get.”

“Staff were very helpful and very friendly. We loved the decor. It will be good when a pool is put in. Roof top bar needs some more umbrellas for shade and the only thing was the chips are put into the bags to early and they come out stale and not very enjoyable. But everything else was very good. On our first evening we went down to have dinner and was told that it was full and we were not given any other options and then had to try and find another place to eat. When we returned the restaurant was quite empty and could not understand why we were turned away.”

“The hotel is beautiful and scores with the roof terrace. The service is staffed by young, sometimes over-motivated staff who supposedly have no qualified training. Few are really nice and motivated, but most treat the guests like numbers. We were unlucky that the pool was closed, we were given a voucher for a brunch as an apology. This was not enough as we had booked the hotel with our 11 year old daughter precisely because of the pool. It was clear to us that Rome (I lived there) means a lot of walking, so the pool was very important to us as relaxation!!! The brunch was great, but in no way replaced this! The food is varied, but it's questionable that you have to make a reservation in the restaurant with your family but can't order pizza there? That's incredibly stupid! The staff clear away everything at the table that you don't hold on to, regardless of whether people are still eating. Everyone acts relaxed and cool but is very clueless. The waiter holds his nose to the wine cork. In good restaurants the waiter gives the gas! They also take away all the caps, even though guests might still want to take the open wine or water with them. Finally, the lady at reception ripped the handle off your rucksack. Oh sorry, was their answer. You have to learn a lot and be more responsive to the customer! Than to make party with bidding money! Mom means "home & wellbeing" you are at best an evil mother-in-law”

“The location and the spaces of rooms are very good, but the starting of morning is very necessary, so, the boiler and a little of tea and coffee is essential to start our day, so, actually, the missing of these items have destroyed our experience in your hotel.”

“We were satisfied with the hotel. It was much further out than expected which was slightly disappointing. When I mentioned that we weren’t told the gym/spa was shut I was told our room would be upgraded. I am unsure if it was or not however we were put in a disabled access room and I’m not sure why. The bathroom was very bare and the lack of products wasn’t great. I had to go out buy shower gel / shampoo something I would automatically expect to be in a hotel. The room needed a good freshen up, the walls had marks all over them and this was something just a lick of paint could fix. I just felt it was lacking amenities. We stayed for two nights and went to breakfast on the 1st day but after 5 minutes we decided to leave. The food offering was not great, the room very dark when it was a gorgeous sunny day outside and the service we didn’t get to experience. That was a slight waste of money after paying for breakfast. Reception was often chaotic. Overall the stay was fine, but would I stay again. Possibly not.”

“I enjoyed spending several nights at Mama Shelter. Its quirky decor and style really suited me. Breakfast choices were tasty, rooftop bar delightful. The downside is that the staff are somewhat disorganised. If anything goes awry, it is slow to be addressed. They seem willing but the system fails them. I experienced a few small problems that were aggravated by the way they were dealt with. On balance, a lovely visit with a few resolvable issues.”
