    Good hotel, but needs some attention

    “Stayed 1 night. Room ok, though airco was noisy and some motorized noise every 15 minutes. Bathroom did not smell nicely and no shampoo available. Also, get smokers smoking further than just at the entrance or exit of the restaurant, smoke gets in! For the rest, very nice staff, food was cool and warm environment”

    Bad Stay

    “Honestly, from the pictures looks very cute and colorful. The room size is ok but not well clean and ruined furniture Air aspirator completely black inside. Honestly I had trouble falling asleep. Mold in the shower...I mean I am not going to this place ever again. Service is ok, I only stayed one night for work.”

    Fine hotel, room too small and MUCH too noisy

    “I have stayed in Mama Shelter Hotels before and very much enjoy the vibe of the chain, particularly the excellent Luxembourg hotel. The Lyon Mama Shelter had some of the same vibe, which I appreciated, but there were two issues with my room. It was clean and well appointed, but the first big problem was the noise: I was on the second floor, and the noise from the street below was terrible: the glass in the windows is simply not up to the job of blocking the noise, which made the room unpleasant to be in during the day and hard to sleep in at night. I asked the gentleman at the front desk if I could move to a higher room or one away from the busy street, but he said that there were no other available rooms, so I ended up using a white noise app to block the noise from the street. The second problem, less serious but still irritating, is that the room was tiny, and the bed was mystifyingly placed directly in the middle of the room, so that one literally had less than a foot of space between the bed and all four walls around it, requiring the guest to walk around the room sideways. I have no idea why the management did not put the bed against a side wall to give at least a bit of room for walking around. I imagine that other rooms in the facility may be quieter and/or larger, but because of the nature of my room, it was not a good stay.”

    Cool hotel

    “Have stayed here a bunch of times over the years. Great atmosphere in the restaurant and the breakfasts are fantastic. A few improvements are needed though. The beds could be bigger and more comfortable (good quality mattress, but on a hard bed base!), and the air conditioning was making an unusual noise all night long. We therefore didn't have the best night sleep Mama claims you will have...”
